Wigtown is Scotland’s National Book town, just ten minutes away from where I live.
A Work In Progress
Please excuse any hiccups until I get everything sorted out. I appreciate your patience. I am trying to find out if I can add multiple large photos and sell to countries outside of the UK
I also plan to have quilts for sale in my shop – ‘Forest Moor Designs’ – at Folksy.com in the near future.
In the meantime if you have any questions at all, please get in touch with me via my Contact Page and I will get back to you.
How to Care For Your Quilt:
All my quilts are made from top quality cotton fabrics, using designers such as Moda, Makower, Riley Blake, Stoff and Lewis and Irene. Almost all the quilts have cotton wadding/batting in the centre though in some quilts for children I have used polyester cotton wadding/batting.
All the quilts are washable but, as I do not pre-wash my fabric (except when I am making quilts for beds), please be aware that there could be little shrinkage when washed, and be extra aware of dark colours. Colours are unlikely to run at low temperatures but may in hot water.
For these reasons I recommend that wash your quilt using a cool, 30 degree wash, on a gentle/wool cycle, squeeze moisture out gently without distorting its shape (don’t wring!) and dry it flat. Better still hand wash it, especially where surfaces are embroidered, to prevent snagging the stitches. Mini quilts only take a moment to wash by hand.
The quilts can also be ironed without using steam. Put a cloth between your iron and your quilt and press, first in one place and then another, rather than pushing the iron around. This is especially important when the quilt has surface embroidery.
